The fourth sprint of the year was plagued by illness, ramping up classes, and Hell Week for FWOP’s rendition of A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. Nevertheless, progress was made, albeit at a reduced pace.

The third sprint consisted of water-testing boat designs, completing the path planner, and making additional headway on other projects. Being November, it is now definitely too cold for any testing on Lake Waban,and we are restricted to testing in the LPB

The second sprint is done, and the team has begun sailing along!

We attended the Boston Mini Maker Faire on October 6. We had a booth where we showed off Git Boat to visitors, and we met some OARS alums. 

It’s a new year of OARS, and with it comes lots of new people and new projects! Our first meeting was well attended by prospective members, both first years and upperclassmen alike.

Sprint 6, February 7 — February 21

The goal of this sprint was to work off of the high-level decisions made last sprint and to create the first stage of the Hawsepiper design. For most of the mechanical team, this meant basic CAD of the different parts of the boat. For the software team, this meant refining the path planner, writing a heading controller, and documenting stuff.
