Where can I find Add Dates, Drop Dates and Withdrawal Dates for the three schools?

Official dates are found on BabsonOlin and Wellesley Academic Calendars. You can also view the BOW Important Dates page to see the dates in calendar format.

How do I ADD a course?

At Babson: To add a course the Babson Registrar’s office needs to receive the cross-registration form from the student’s home institution. Once the Babson Registrar’s Office receives this form they will be in contact with the student only if they have been added or need more information.

At Olin College: To add a course the Olin Registrar’s Office needs to receive the cross-registration form from the student’s home institution, after which time they will contact the student.

At Wellesley: To add a course the Wellesley Registrar's Office needs to receive the cross-registration form from the student's home institution. Once the Wellesley Registrar's Office receives this form they will be in contact with the student only if they have been added or need more information.

How do I DROP a course?

At Babson: To drop a Babson course the student needs to email registrar@babson.edu. Once the student is dropped they will receive a confirmation email with the home school copied but the student should always follow up with their registrar’s office to be sure they do not need to complete anything else.

At Olin College: Use this Form found on the Olin website, get the instructor’s signature and bring to the Registrar’s Office, Campus Center 320.  The student should follow up with their own Registrar to be sure that they do not need to complete any further steps.

At Wellesley: To drop a Wellesley course the student needs to email registrar@wellesley.edu before Wellesley's drop deadline. Once the student is dropped they will receive a confirmation email with the home school copied but the student should always follow up with their registrar's office to be sure they do not need to complete anything else.

How do I WITHDRAW from a course?

Please note that withdrawing from courses could affect financial aid and/or immigration status.

At Babson: Students may withdraw from courses after the drop deadline, but before the withdrawal deadline. To withdraw from a Babson course the visiting student should email registrar@babson.edu. Once the student has been withdrawn they will receive a confirmation email with their home registrar’s office copies. But the student should always follow up with their registrar’s office to be sure they do not need to complete anything else.

At Olin College: Use this Form found on the Olin website, get the instructor’s signature and bring to the Registrar’s Office, Campus Center 320. The student should follow up with their own Registrar to be sure that they do not need to complete any further steps. A grade of “W” will be reported to the home Registrar.

At Wellesley: Students must complete the 'Course Withdrawal' form (available in the Wellesley Registrar's Office) before the withdrawal deadline.  A grade of WDR will remain on your transcript.

Where can I find each college's Academic Calendar?

Here are the links to the BabsonOlin and Wellesley Academic Calendars.  An official collection of these dates can be found on the BOW Important Dates page.

How many credits will I earn?

At Babson: The amount of credit a student earns depends on the course that the student takes. As long as the student passes the course they will receive all credit for the course they took.

At Olin: Olin courses are typically 4 credits. Credit information is included in each course descriptions.  Babson credits count 1:1; i.e. a 3-credit Babson course counts for 3 Olin credits and a 4-credit Babson course counts for 4 Olin credits.  A 1- or 1.25-credit Wellesley course counts for 4 Olin credits.

At Wellesley: Wellesley courses range from 0.5 - 1.25 units.  Most courses earn 1 unit.

What grade will be on my transcript?

At Babson: The grade a Babson student will receive on their transcript is the grade that the host school has on their transcript.

Olin students: The grade you receive at Babson or Wellesley will appear on your Olin transcript.

At Wellesley: When the Wellesley Registrar’s Office receives final grade(s) from Babson or Olin College, the transfer credit will be awarded if the course(s) were completed with a grade of “C” or higher. The course(s) will appear on the Wellesley transcript with a “TR” grade which means that the credit will be applied toward the degree but that the actual letter grade(s) earned will not appear on the Wellesley transcript and will not be included in the calculation of the cumulative GPA. As with all transfer work, the course(s) must be taken for a letter grade at Babson and Olin.

What is the grading deadline?

At Babson: The grading deadline is different for each semester, professors should get grades in 72 hours after the last deliverable.

At Olin: see the Registrar's Office Website (faculty only).

What happens if I cross-register in my final semester before commencement?

If the student does want to cross-register s/he needs to be aware that the grading deadlines at the host college may not line up with the Babson grading deadline. If the Babson Registrar’s Office does not receive the grade for the course the student cross-registered for by 4:30 PM the Tuesday before commencement then the student's name will show in the Commencement Program with the May graduates but honors will not be designated and a diploma will not be given at the ceremony. The student will receive a diploma upon completion of all degree requirements, will be ranked with all graduates once all grades are received, and will be awarded honors if applicable.

At Olin: You risk not being able to get your diploma. Grading deadlines vary across the campuses and we cannot guarantee that your grade will be available before your ceremony.
