Michel Beaudouin-Lafon

Professor

MIchel Beaudouin-Lafon is a Professor of Computer Science, Classe Exceptionnelle, at Universite Paris-Sud (France) and a senior fellow of Institut Universitaire de France.
He has worked in human-computer interation for 30 years and played a fundamental role in establishing and promoting the discipline in France. He has published more than 150 papers, served on program committees of many conferences, and worked tirelessly to mentor the next generation of computer scientists and researchers, including 28 Ph.D. students. Beaudouin-Lafon aslo founded the Association Francophone d'Interaction Homme-Machine (AFIHM), the French equivalent of the Association for Computing Machinery SIGCHI, and served as its first president. His research interests include: fundamential aspects of interaction, novel interaction techniques, computer-supported cooperative work and engineering of interactive systems.

Wendy Mackay

Research Director

Wendy Macky is the Research Director with INRIA Saclay in France, currently on sabbatical at Stanford University. She heads the In|Situ| research group in Human-Computer Interaction, which includes faculty, students, and research staff fron INRIA, CNRS, and the University of Paris-Sud. She was fromerly the Vice President of Research in Computer Science at the Univeristé Paris-Sud. Mackay has published more than 200 research articles on human-computer interaction and her multidisciplinary design methods are taught around the world. Her research interests include multidisciplinary and participartory design, mixed reality and interactive paper, situated interaction and co-adaptive systems, and multimedia nad medidated commnunication.
