Like this bio my writing style weaves a tapestry of atmospheric details and introspective musings. With a penchant for evocative imagery and nuanced character interactions, I craft narratives that beckon readers into realms where the ordinary collides with the surreal, leaving them captivated by the dance of curiosity and enchantment.

Esther Ekua Aduamah
Hello, everyone! I'm Esther. I enjoy watching cartoons/anime, making pancakes, and staying up a bit too late. I have a particular fondness for reading YA fiction, especially retellings of classics/myths, dystopian tales, and a hint of romance (who could blame me? I enjoy long walks on clichés). I went into this class because my first time writing creatively was for college supplements and I actually really enjoyed it. So, I decided to give this class a try! I hope you are as excited to read our pieces—mine and my classmates'—as we were while writing them!

Rohan Bendapudi
Hey y’all, I’m Rohan Bendapudi (Olin ‘27), and I love books, video games, and writing! My favorite book is An Artist of the Floating World by Kazuo Ishiguro. In my work, I love blurring the lines of reality (surrealism), exploring my Telugu self, and examining the formation of identity. Enjoy!

Adiella Chapa
Hi! I am Adiella, a first year at Olin. I read a lot of fiction (when I find the time) and have grown especially fond of Young Adult novels. I enjoy reading books by Kiera Cass, Jenny Han, and many, many more amazing authors. I am a fan of mystery, dystopian society, and romance novels (honestly, anything with a good storyline can draw me in). I am a fan of using description and vivid imagery to paint a picture in my reader’s mind. I also have a cat who occasionally helps me generate ideas for my stories 😊.

Ariel Chen
Too Taiwanese to be American and too American to be Taiwanese. Life goal is to become a cat and travel the world :3

Caterina Cirone
As a first-year engineering student, I decided to take Creative Writing to expand my horizons in terms of exploring my beliefs and passions of life. My two favorite genres are medieval fantasy and horror, so I used both as a medium to tell the stories I wanted to tell, especially pertaining to femininity, the queer community, and the complexities of family. I love creating characters and exploring their voices, so character work turned out to be the most exciting part of Creative Writing for me; I think my favorite characters I’ve written were Joan of Arc from Joan’s Testament (even though she’s technically a historical figure) and Kinsie from Father Christmas, which is why I picked these two pieces for the literary magazine.

Bill Le
Hi! I'm Bill Le, a first year. My hobbies are playing league of legends, watching anime, and reading books. My favorite animes right now are Sousou no Frieren and Blue Period. My two favorite book series of all time are Beautiful Creatures and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, yes very YA works. I'm also reading a new duet by Chloe Gong called These Violent Delights which I really recommend. Before this, I never really wrote with the intention of sharing my work. I mostly journaled and it happens to be one of my favorite things ever. I'm so excited to have the opportunity to share my work with others. I hope the emotions in my pieces shine through and are relatable to readers.

Dongim Lee
I am a first-year student at Olin College, studying Electrical and Computer Engineering. Beyond the world of circuits and code, I love to read and write peaceful pieces that bring relaxation and joy.

Cian Linehan
Hey y’all! Cian here, embarking on my debut journey into writing with the elegant grace of a one-legged fish. I’m passionate about medieval tales and Greek myths, and figured I'd pen my own stories to see if I can do it without falling off my chair. When I'm not struggling to say there is a tree in a field, you'll find me lost in fiction/fantasy books or sending it on a mountain bike trail. Unfortunately, my extensive experience falling off my bike seems to translate well to falling off trains of thought too!

Ivy Mahncke
I’m Ivy! I think that the best way to become a better writer is to read a lot. I’ve loved sci-fi and fantasy since I was a kid, and now I read a lot of magical realism, history nonfiction, and horror in addition to those. I think that short stories and novellas are an underrated medium of storytelling -- please ask me about my short story spreadsheet!

Mia
Hi, I'm Mia. I've been infected by the eldritch horror brainrot, and it shows. I like to read works translated into English because I think there is value in different kinds of storytelling. I think every short story should have a "so what" that is fundamentally shaped by the author's unique lens on life, and experiencing that perspective is one of the great benefits of reading. I hope you have fun finding the "so what"s  in the magazine.

Audrey Renaud
Hi! I’m Audrey, a first year MechE Student. While my literary background may not be as extensive as my classmates, I enjoy writing poetry about almost everything. I write far more than I read, so for this class I aimed to better myself as a writer by reading more, starting with my peers’ work. I got a lot from this course, not just as a writer, but I gained so much through growing with my classmates and I really cherish the community we built together. Enjoy the magazine!

Kenji Sakaie
I am Kenji Sakaie, a somewhat delusional first-year mechanical engineering student from Cleveland Heights, Ohio. I am a member of Olin Rocketry, Olin Baja, and OCO, and I love hiking and martial arts. I enjoy reading historical fiction. This was my first experience with creative writing, and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to improve my writing skills and explore some ideas.

Sam Wisnoski
Hi all! I'm Sam Wisnoski, a first year here at Olin majoring in ECE. Although I've always been a big reader (my favorite books are Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde), this is my first go at creative writing. In my free time, I like to play video/board games, work in the library team rooms, and spend time in Boston. Thanks for reading!
